Storytelling

Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. (Matthew 13:34).

There is no agony like bearing an untold story inside of you. – Zora Neale Hurston

Jesus told great stories. We want to be able to share his stories–as well as our own–with others.

We only find meaning, purpose, and beauty in our lives once our stories find their place in a bigger story. As a church, we read and re-tell scripture together daily. When we gather, we read God’s story (the Bible) and practice re-telling it to each other.

We listen intently to what each person has to share about what God is revealing to them through scripture. We also share and celebrate stories of blessing others in the name of Jesus in our daily lives. We kick off every new microchurch with a storytelling retreat where we share our stories and listen intently to others. This way, we are known, seen, and heard.
